Waives your state income tax for 5 years when you move to a ROZ County in Kansas from another state.

Matching program that repays student loans up to $15,000 over 5 years after moving to a ROZ County.

• Lived outside of Kansas for two or more years immediately prior to moving to a ROZ County
• Earned less than $10,000 in Kansas source income in the 2 years prior to moving to a ROZ County
• Move to Cowley after July 1, 2021 and live in the ROZ County the entire taxable year to be able to claim the tax credit Jan. 1 to Dec. 31.
  • Example: Moving to Cowley County in 2021 makes you eligible for the waiver for 2022 as long as you maintain residence for the full calendar year.

• Moved to Cowley County after July 1, 2021
• Hold an associates, bachelor's, or post-graduate degree PRIOR to moving to the ROZ County
• Have an employer sponsor
• Have an outstanding student loan balance in applicant's name 
• Ability to provide proof of: residency at current and previous addresses, and student loan balance with distribution dates. 

Income tax waiver: You simply relocate to and reside in Cowley County between July 1st and December 31, 2023. When you file your 2024 income taxes through the State's online system, you will see a question to indicate you met the Roz eligibility requirements.

Student loan reimbursement: Relocate to Cowley County and work with the employer that will sponsor you in the ROZ program. You and the employer will each register for the program. If you would like to move to Cowley County and do not have an employer, submit your application and we'll try to match you with a participating employer.
