November 22, 2022 - Respiratory Illness Surge in Cowley County

Cowley County is currently experiencing a surge in respiratory illnesses including influenza A, RSV, and COVID. The Health Department has received numerous reports from local schools and hospitals about increases in cases. Additionally, there have been numerous co-infections reported as well.

With Thanksgiving just a few days away, the timing of this illness spike is inopportune. Members of the community should take notice and take measures to protect themselves as they travel for the holidays. The Health Department recommends everyone to utilize the best practices in order to protect themselves and others from illness.
